DNS record lookup

Inspect public DNS records for a domain or subdomain.

No API key or account required. Public services may limit requests or redact data.

Read the records that route a domain

Select a record type to inspect nameservers, addresses, mail routing, verification or certificate-authorization records.

Which DNS records should you check?

NS records identify authoritative nameservers. A and AAAA records map a name to IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. MX records describe mail routing, while TXT records can contain verification and email-policy text. CAA records identify certificate-issuance policies.

This tool queries Google Public DNS over HTTPS and displays its answer, record type and time to live. DNS caching and recent changes can affect what a resolver sees. It is a point-in-time observation, not a test that every website service or email account is working.
