This policy explains the information handled when you use WebOneWord, maintained under the editorial name WebOneWord Team. It applies to this website and its built-in research tools. External registrars, marketplaces, data providers and advertising services have their own policies.
Ordinary website requests
Delivering a page exposes routine technical information to the web server and hosting infrastructure, such as the requested address, network address, browser information and request time. Server and security logs may retain information needed to operate the service, investigate errors and limit abuse. Log handling also depends on the hosting configuration.
Some anonymous public pages are briefly cached to reduce repeated database work. Administrative pages, contact submissions and interactive lookup responses are not placed in that public HTML cache.
Contact messages
The contact form records the name, email address, subject and message you submit so the team can review and respond to the request. Do not include passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or API credentials. Contact-form information is not published as a public profile.
Scheduled maintenance is configured to remove contact messages older than 365 days. That cleanup requires the maintenance job to run; backups and hosting logs may follow separate retention schedules. Relevant records may need to be retained when handling an unresolved request, an abuse investigation or an applicable legal obligation.
Saved domains and evaluation notes
The shortlist and domain-evaluation notes use local storage in your browser. They remain on the device and browser profile where you saved them and are not automatically synchronized to an account. You can remove saved names, clear the shortlist or clear site storage through your browser. Clearing the shortlist does not automatically delete separately saved evaluation notes.
Opening the shortlist sends its domain names to WebOneWord to retrieve matching public catalog details. The note text is not sent by the note-saving feature. A comparison address includes the compared names in its query string; sharing that address also shares those names.
Registration and DNS lookups
When you request a lookup, the domain or DNS name is sent to WebOneWord and then to the relevant public registry service or Google Public DNS. Those services see the requested name and the server's request information. Their availability, data disclosure and retention practices are outside WebOneWord's control.
The registration tool returns a limited public summary, including registrar details, event dates, status codes and nameservers where provided. It does not attempt to recover hidden personal contact information. Matching results can be reused from a short-lived cache, normally for up to one hour; not-found results and service errors use shorter reuse periods. Expired files are removed by maintenance and storage limits.
Because searches use ordinary web addresses, query text can appear in browser history and server logs. Do not use the tools to submit confidential project information beyond the domain name you intend to research.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential session cookies support functions such as administrator authentication and form security. Optional analytics and advertising code can be configured by the site operator. When enabled, those providers may process network, browser, device, usage and advertising-related information according to their policies and applicable consent choices.
The site initializes Google consent signals in a denied state. A configured consent-management platform is responsible for presenting applicable choices and updating those signals. Provider code, regional rules, browser controls and the operator's configuration can affect the final behavior. See the cookie policy for categories and controls.
External links and brand images
Following a marketplace or registrar link transfers you to that provider. Outbound marketplace clicks may be recorded with the listing, time, referring page and hashed network information for operational reporting. Scheduled maintenance removes outbound click rows older than 180 days.
Brand images are served locally when mirrored from their original official source. If a local copy is unavailable, your browser may request the original company image directly. That request exposes ordinary network information to the image host; the image requests use a no-referrer policy.
Your choices and requests
You can decline optional storage through the available consent controls, use browser privacy settings, avoid external links and remove local shortlist data. Some features may not work when essential browser storage or JavaScript is blocked.
Depending on the rules that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent. Submit a request through the contact form and identify the relevant information without sending unnecessary sensitive documents. We may need proportionate information to verify and understand a request.
Policy updates
This page may be updated when the tools, providers or data-handling practices change. The review date is shown below. Changes do not turn a public lookup into a guarantee that another provider's data is complete, accurate or available.
